Nails Of The Week #5

My nails for this week come from Nicole by OPI in the shade 'Jade In The Shade' (287). It is this blue colour with shimmer in it and kind of makes me feel like a mermaid.

June Non-Beauty Favourites

As it is the last day of June, I thought I would do a non-beauty favourites post. I haven't seen many bloggers do a non beauty favourites post but I thought it would be fun and give you more information about other things I have been enjoying other than make up and skincare.

I don't normally burn candles during the summer time however I picked up this candle a couple of weeks ago and I haven't stopped burning it since. I don't really like the spicy smelling candles but rather the fruity smelling ones and I think that this is why I have been loving this candle so much. It smells like a mixture of pineapple and coconut which makes me feel like I am on holiday.

Music Favourites
I have had a lot of songs that I have discovered this month however the main songs are Ghosts by Elle Henderson, Problem by Ariana Grande and I will never let you down by Rita Ora. These have been fairly new songs for me this month and they are perfect summer songs to jump and dance around to.

TV shows
One tv show that I have been in love with this month has to be Mistresses Season 2 (US version). I loved watching season one and season two came back this month and I was so excited about it. I don't know what it is about this tv show that makes me love it. I have also been loving Hollyoaks and I Wanna Marry Harry which people find weird but I just find it funny.

Movie Favourites
I have watched a couple of movies this month and one of those has to be 'That Awkward Moment' which was sweet, funny and cute and of course a shirtless Zac Efron never hurts. If you love romantic comedy movies I would suggest this. I also liked Maleficent which I watched with friends.

Book Favourites
There has only been one book that I have been reading this month and that is 'The Fault In Our Stars' and is such a sweet book and will make you cry. I had heard a lot of people talking about this book and decided to give it a try. I have also been reading 'Lauren Conard Beauty' which is great for make up lovers like myself.

What have you been loving this month?

June Beauty Favourites

I can't believe that June is basically over because that means summer is half way over! I have had such an eventful month because I finished college and really got into blogging more. As the end of the month comes around, monthly favourites pop up and I decided to gather up my beauty favourites from this month. I have a selection of make up products and a couple of skincare products which makes a change. If your interested in what beauty items I have been using during the month of June then keep reading.

I am going to kick off this month's favourites with a skincare product and it's the Simple Facial Toner. I have recently done a whole post about Simple as a brand so check that out if you want to know more about them but I have been using this facial toner non stop. I use it in the morning to refresh my skin and to wake me up however I also use it in the evening to get the last bits of make up off after I have used my cleanser.

The other skincare product that I have been loving this month has been this body lotion and if you have dry legs, you need to get this because it is just amazing. I use this twice a week because it can take a while to dry so I don't always have the time to sit around waiting for the lotion to dry. However this is such a good lotion because it smooth and creamy not to mention it smells amazing.

The nail polish that I have been wearing a lot during June was Rimmel's Loafer Love For You' which is this dark blue almost indigo colour and is perfect for the summer time. I have been wearing this on my fingers and toes and doesn't chip much at time which is great.

The next beauty product is from Miners and is their bronzer and blusher blend. I know that the thought of a bronzer and blusher sounds strange but it is perfect for people who are starting out in make up and might be scared of using bronzer because it is a blend of both and creates this healthy glow. It does have some shimmer to it but it is hardly noticeable when you apply it to your face. I love using because it gives a healthy look and creates this rosy glow and I have been using this almost everyday this month.

This product has been a must have this month because the weather has been getting hotter and that means I am more oily. This pressed powder from Seventeen has been a life saver and controls my oils and shin really well and lasts for a long time. I had an award evening a couple of weeks ago and I apply this and at the end of the evening I wasn't shinny at all and didn't have to reapply.

The first lip product that I have been using a lot recently is this NYC Lip Balm which I haven't heard a lot of people talking about but I brought it on sale and I have really been enjoying it and gives the right amount of colour for those days when you don't want to be wearing a heavy lipstick. I love wearing this on days when I am just go food shopping or sitting in my garden because it gives a shear wash of red to your lips.

Another Miners product, I am really loving their products lately and more specific I have been loving their 'the matte factor' lip paints. These are basically moistrurising lip stains and I can't get enough of them because they smell amazing and last for such a long time. I went out with some of my friends the other night for dinner and I worn this and it didn't move at all and didn't need reapplying.

That's every beauty product that I have been loving this month and I will be doing a non-beauty favourites post as well so look out for that. I hope that this has been interesting and I hope you had a great June.

What have your beauty favourites been for June?

Summer Shoe Collection // Primark

I thought that today I would do a post about shoes and more importantly summer shoes because of course it's summer. I don't know about you, but I am that person that has more shoes than is sensible and one thing I love about summer is the new shoes that Primark bring out and I thought that I would show you guys what shoes I have been loving from Primark recently...

The first pair of shoes that I have been wearing a lot recently has been these cute flip flops and I know that they aren't the most amazing thing to walk a long way in but if your having lunch or dinner in the garden or just popping out to the shops these are perfect. I love the details that they have and they go with loads of different outfits.

Another pair of shoes that I always wear are these black ballet pumps and to be honest, I only normally wear these when I am going on a lunch date or shopping but I really like them because they make a outfit look more complete and make it more dressy. Primark do these shoes in a range of colours but of course, black goes with everything.

The next pair of shoes are one of my favourite mainly because of the colour of the strap because I love mint green. These shoes are perfect for the summer because you can show off your painted toe nails and the nude coloured strap at the ankle makes your skin look that bit more tanned.

I am not 100 percent sure that Primark still sell these sandals as I brought these last summer but I really wanted to include them because they are amazing and I wear them everyday. They are very comfortable and don't rub your heels. My favourite thing about these sandals are the studs on the straps which give it a edgy look.

I brought these shoes when I last went to Primark and I am sure that they still sell these and I would recommend picking them up because they are cheap, cute and come in many colours. I really love wearing these shoes with sundresses because they give it a girly look.

The last shoes also happen to be my favourite and they are these black wedges. I wanted a pair of wedges for the summer for the longest time and I saw these in Primark and fell in love with them because they aren't too high and are comfortable and you could walk around in them without a problem. I have been wearing these with high-low skirts recently.

I hope that you have found this post interesting and haven't been put off by all the pictures of my feet! I haven't seen a post like this before and I always find shoes really hard to find in primark because the shoe department in Primark is always messy and to be honest makes me so stressed out so if you saw what shoes I brought from Primark, it might give you an idea of what you could buy.

What shoes do you like to wear during the Summer?

Wishlist // Payday Beauty Picks

Hi everyone! As a working student, having extra money to splash out on makeup is rather rare so by the end of the month, I have a wistlist of make up. Making this wist list makes going to work that little bit more bearable. I have seen a couple of posts like this on other beauty blogs and I really like looking at other people's wistlist.

Seventeen CC Cream
I am not a person that wears foundation every day so I am always looking for BB creams but I have recently seen CC creams going around and I would love to try the CC cream from seventeen as I have heard great things about it

Seventeen Mirror Shine Lipstick
Another thing from seventeen that I have been looking at recently is their lipsticks and to be more specific their mirror shine lipstick. I have heard a lot about these lipsticks and I am not sure about the colours that I would want but the pink colours have caught my eye.

Bourjois CC Cream
I have never tried any Bourjois products before however but there is one product that has caught my eye and that is the CC cream. I don't know if you can tell that I have a bit of a thing for CC creams at the moment.

Nail Polish Spray
I always paint my nails but I really can't be bothered to wait for the polish to dry and one thing that I have seen on Liana Beauty's blog was this nail polish spray which makes the nails dry faster. I saw this in boots recently and I was so close to picking it up but decided to save it for pay day.

Rimmel Eye Primer
This eye primer has been on my wishlist for a while now because I haven't found a eye primer that will really keep my eyeshadow on all day and won't crease.

Rimmel Nail Polish 'Fancy a Dip'
I first saw this nail polish on Fleurdeforce and I haven't had the time to go out and find this certain nail polish but it's on my wishlist and hopefully I will be adding this to my nail polish collection.

So there I have it, a selection of beauty products that I have looking for and hoping to get my hands on when pay day rolls around.

What you hoping to get on pay day?

Beauty Haul // Boots & Superdrug

Hey guys! Today's post is another haul and to be more specific, its a beauty haul. I woke up this morning and noticed that I was running low on a couple of things and I decided that I would pop out to the shops, which means buying more things that I didn't really need. You may be shocked to find that I didn't actually spend that much on make up during this trip but if you have read any of my previous haul posts your know that I have recently brought way too much make up. If your like me and love having a good look at what people buy when they go into boots and superdrug, then here we go...

Soap & Glory Skincare
When I entered boots, the first area I went to was Soap and Glory. One of the items that I was running low on was 'The Righteous Butter' which I use as a moisturiser for my body so I picked up another of these. I normally buy the smaller one that only costs 2.50 rather than the bigger pot because I don't use this everyday so it does last awhile. While I was in the Soap and Glory area, I decided to try the 'Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em' Body Scub because I have never used a body scub before and this one smelt amazing and cost 2.50 as well. When I went to pay for these products, I found out that Soap and Glory had a 3 for 2 offer so I picked up the 'Flake Away' body scub as well and got it for free. I love it when boots have these offers!

The Beauty Essentials
Now you might be thinking that 'Johnson's Baby Shampoo' is a weird thing to buy and don't worry I am not a baby, but I was researching products to use to clean my make up brushes with, I thought that this shampoo would be perfect because it is gentle. I will do a blog post about this sometime soon so stay turned for that. This shampoo cost 1.09 because it's the mini travelling size. Another thing that I picked up was the Superdrug 'Pure Cotton Wool Buds' which I use to remove any nail polish that gets onto the skin surrounding the nails and they cost 1.39 so they are fairly cheap. I also brought the Boots Essentials 'Fingernail Clipper' because I have lost my previous one and this one was the cheapest and they cost 1.25.

Beauty Products
As a person who is addicted to make up, I can't make a trip to Boots or Superdrug without buying some item of make up. As I was walking around boots, I noticed a clearance area but what I had never seen before, was a basket of discounted make up. Inside this basket of discounted make up was this Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in number 22 which is bright pink colour and I was so excited when I saw it. I am not sure why it was in the discounted basket because it looks fine and it only cost 2.75 which is a bargain is about 2 pounds cheaper than normal. The other product that I got was a nail polish and I have never tried a Nicole by OPI nail polish before so when I saw that my local Superdrug were selling it and I couldn't help but have look and I fell in love with this blue colour called 'Jade In The Shade' (287) and is cost 3 pounds which is an amazing price for an OPI nail polish. Expect to see this nail polish in an upcoming 'Nails of The Week' post some time soon!

Well that was my rather random beauty haul but I hope that you liked it and it gave you some idea of the things that I have been buying recently. Hopefully I will be reviewing a couple of products in this post soon so remember to check back for those.

What have you picked up recently from Boots or Superdrug?

Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm // Review

I thought I would do a review today as I haven't done one in a while and I am going to review the Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm in the colour Vivacious (120). I first heard about these lip products from Essiebutton and Miss Budget Beauty so I thought that I would buy one to try out and because I love pink, I picked up this bright pink colour. I know that I am so late onto the train about these products but I brought this lip product months ago and then I kind of forgot about it and the other day I decided to wear it and I suddenly remembered how much I love it and thought I should review it, so here we go...

The first thing I noticed about this lacquer balm is that, it felt light on the lips and was very pigmented. It give a glossy finish which I really like. I love the way that the product feels on the lips because it feels hydrating and doesn't dry my lips out which is a plus side. The formula is described as 'high shine with a balm like mositure' which is  and I can agree with this. I feel that this particular one gives a semi sheer finish and remains glossy on the lips. Because it has a glossy finish, it is rather sticky so it can leave your lips feeling a bit sticky if you go overboard with the amount of product to apply. The product itself, is soft to apply and goes on very well.

One thing that I really like about this product is the smell because it smells like peppermint and gives it a fresh feel. I also like the packaging because it comes in a twist up crayon style packaging which means that you don't waste any product and you don't need to sharpen it either. However there are a couple of down sides to it as well. One of these is that it comes off when you drink or eat and if you go to hug someone, the product will come from onto them or their clothes which can be a problem if its a bright pink colour. Another thing is that you will have to reapply during the day and you will also have to make sure it doesn't smudge all over your chin. The last thing that I noticed was that after a while the product begins to melt which isn't great so just bear that in mind. Overall I like this lip balm stick because it is easy to apply, quick to apply, easy to do while travelling and has very cute packaging.

Have you ever tried the Lacquer Balm before? What do you think?

Summer Fashion Haul

Hey everyone! In case you couldn't guess from the title of the post, I went shopping and its another haul. I know that I have done loads of shopping recently but I ended up going to a shopping mall the other day, I couldn't help but pick up a couple of items. I also blame this haul on the fact that I am now in summer holidays so I may have watched one too many fashion hauls which gave me ideas of what to buy. I thought I would share with you what I brought...

New Look Floral Print Dress
This dress looks much better on than it does when it is on a hanger and in this photo. It has this beautiful floral print at the top of the dress and then has this long black skirt bit and when I first looked at this dress I thought it was a top and skirt but make no mistake it is a dress. I found this in New Look in the sale area. I wasn't planning on buying a dress but I had my graduation evening recently and I was planning on wearing this Topshop dress but it was too thick and it was a hot evening so I quickly brought this and I am so pleased with it. It cost 19.99 but because it was in the sale it only cost 10 pounds! Such a bargain.

Primark Heart Patterned Skort
If your wondering what a skort is, it is a pair of shorts and skirt combined into one thing. I used to wear these type of things when I was in primary school but I have heard Fleurdeforce raving about them and she brought a couple of different ones and I really wanted to try one. I picked up this skort from Primark because I love hearts and is made of a light weight material. I love the idea of a skort because you can sit cross legged if you want and if its windy you can still wear it. This skort cost 7 pounds which is a good price.

Primark Basic Cotton Tee
I know that this item is a bit boring but I picked up this basic shirt because I thought this shirt would be perfect to pair with the skort. You may not believe it, but I don't actually own any plan white shirts and this shirt only costs 2 pounds so what is there to lose.

Primark Strap Sandals
Every summer I pick up a couple of sandals and I thought that I would pick up these shoes because they would look great with a tan and were cheap as well. I love the pink straps that it has and the gold details on the straps. These sandals only cost 4 pounds which is amazing and I am sure that these will be a must have this summer.

Primark Black Crossover Wedges
I was so excited when I saw these because I have been looking for some summer wedges for a while now. After I tried these wedges on I was sold because they have a platform so it doesn't hurt to walk in them and they are black so they will go with loads of outfits. They cost 10 pounds which is such a good  price and I couldn't help but buy these.

That's everything I brought and I am so happy with all of it. I know that I have done a few hauls recently but hopefully you guys don't mind and I love reading hauls because it can give you an idea of the clothes in store and what other people are buying.

Have you brought any summer clothes recently?

Real Technique Dupes ?

You know when your casually scrolling through ebay or amazon and you come across something that you have wanted for the longest time and then you buy it without thinking twice? Well this happened to me the another day because I found these amazing make up brushes which dare I say are just as good as the real technique brushes.

The first make up brushes I ever brought were Superdrug own brand ones because they were so cheap but they weren't every good and when I did some research about makeup brushes I heard a lot of people talking the real technique brushes, so I went out to boots to pick up couple and I have to agree that they are amazing but they aren't that cheap so I went online to see if I could find similar brushes that were cheaper and this is where these brushes come in.

These are a makeup brush set that contains a tapered, round, angled and flat brush and they were only 5.99. I found these on amazon but I checked and ebay sell them as well. The tapered brush would be great for blending concealer in the harder areas such as around the eyes, nose and chin. I think that round blush is perfect for applying eyeshadow with because it gets into the crease and blends nicely as well. The angled brush would be good for applying concealer to the sides of the nose and the hollows of the cheeks. The flat brush is good for applying concealer on smaller places such as sports and blemishes if you have any.

The quality of these brushes are amazing and they are very soft and lovely to touch. These are also made from synthetic fibres. However they did smell of plastic when they first arrived but after one wash  the smell went and there was no fall out and when I used them, they blended well and felt soft on the eye lids. I would say that the round brush is a great dupe for the real techniques shading brush. If your looking for some cheaper makeup brushes I would seriously recommend that you give these brushes a try because they great for the cheap price.

Have you ever tried amazon or ebay brushes before?

Affordable Skincare // Simple Kind To Skin

As a student, I love any good bargains however I find cheap skincare particular hard because I have such sensitive skin and therefore a lot of cheaper skincare products are lightly to cause redness and make me break out which is not what I really want. I was in boots one day and I came across the simple brand for the first time and I was convinced that these products would react with my skin because the price was so low but when I picked some of the products  up, I noticed that they focused on being kind to skin and not having any artificial perfume or colours in the product so I picked a couple of products and from that day I have never looked back and I thought I would do a blog post about this brand and the products that I have used.

One of the first products that I picked up when I found this brand was their moisturising facial wash. I am not 100 percent sure why I felt the need to pick this specific one but I did and boy am I glad that I did. When I first brought this, it just lived in my bathroom draw and didn't get used but as I started to wear more make up, I began to notice that my face wasn't as moisturised and one day I was clearing out my draws and I found this again and I put it in my shower to make me use it and I have been using it everyday. It is so refreshing and really moisturises my skin and makes it feel smooth and soft.

The next product is the soothing facial toner that I featured in my make up remover routine post and this product is fairly new to me and I had never used a toner but when I decided I needed a toner I went straight to the simple brand stand. I have been using this toner day and night and I heard loads of people rave about this product and I couldn't agree more. I really like using this toner because it feels so soothing and doesn't have a smell to it and is alcohol free which is good.

This product isn't actually from the kind to skin collection but rather the spotless skin collection. It is called the rapid action spot zapper and is perfect for the days when spots arrives on my face and I am out of the house. It contains a metal roller ball so it is easy to apply and doesn't require you to rub it in. It don't think that it completely gets rid of the spot but it does reduce the redness and the size but you may still need a cream to fully rid of the spot but for on the go its great. I am not sure if this product is still being sold because I haven't seen it around in boots or superdrug but if you can find it give it a go.

The last product that I am currently using from simple kind to skin is their deep cleansing face mask. As I am new in the skincare world, I had never tried a face mask before however when I was in Superdrug I decided to pick it up. I have used this a couple of times and I am really loving it so far. I only use it once a week and I leave it on for about 3 minutes before rinsing it off. This face mask is perfect for people who are just starting out in the skincare world and really cleanses my face and gets rid of any make up that builds up throughout the week.

I really hope that you found this post useful and gave you some ideas of where to start on skincare and I would really recommend this brand because it is so affordable and perfect for any type of skin.

Have you tried any Simple products? What did you think of them?
