Goodbye 2014

2014. I can't really believe that you have been and gone. Its crazy to think how much has happened this year and how much has changed. I would ideally like to write about every little moment but then we would be here for a while so instead lets toast to the moments that made this year so amazing and special...

February was a month to remember because that's when I started blogging again and decided to really put effort into it and post more regularly. I remember that during February I had been rejected from all five of my university choices and I was feeling sad and upset and blogging gave me a new thing to focus on.

May was a month to remember because I decided to pull myself together and got in contact with some universities and managed to get a university offer and believe it or not managed to finish school with the higher grades possible. Crazy Thought!

August. I was one proud sister when my brother went to the swimming nationals and came 6th in the country. Such an amazing moment.

September was one of the biggest challenges of the year when I moved off to university and lived by myself for the first time. To say that it was hard and challenging is the understatement of the year.

Those were some of the highlights of 2014 though my eyes. I hope you all had an amazing year and Christmas and hope that the year to come brings you joy and luck. Goodbye 2014, you have been great and very kind. Here's to another amazing and unbelievable year..

Top 5 Beauty Discoveries of 2014

As the end of the year draws in I have put together my 'Top 5 Beauty Discoveries of 2014' post which as the title may suggest, is a post about products that came into my life this year and I have fallen in love with during 2014. Don't worry I shall also be doing my 2014 favourites but for this post I thought why not show you what I found during this wonderful year...

1. Urban Decay Primer Potion
I brought this eye primer back in July because I was battling with oily eyelids and couldn't find a cheap eye primer. Because of this, I decided to buy this primer and its amazing. This eye primer keeps every eyeshadow in place and lasts such a long time and was an amazing discovery. This primer enhances the eyeshadow and keeps any eyeshadow in its place.

2. Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer
A bronzer that I brought during 2014 was the Bourjois Chocolate bronzer. I had heard so many people talking about this bronzer and I wanted to try a new bronzer so I gave it a go. The packaging is generally what sells people but personally I don't like the packaging but the actual product is amazing and isn't too bright or orange.

3. Topshop Blusher 'Good Girl'
I had never tried any Topshop make up before this, but I saw that Fleurdeforce had been raving about this so I thought why not try it and I haven't looked back. This blush is so pigmented and the packaging is amazing. The packaging is so sleek and comes with a mirror. What more could you ask for?!

4. Soap & Glory Scrubs
I only really began trying the Soap and Glory scrubs this year and I don't know why I waited so long because they are out of this world. I can't decided which scrub is my favourite because I love all of the sugar and salt scrubs and all the scents. If you haven't tried it than you are missing out.

5. Stila 'In The Light' Palette
If you didn't read my birthday post, you may not know that I got this Stila Palette and it is so worth the hype. I love it and the pigmentation is just like nothing I have ever tried. The eyeshadows are so buttery and blend-able. It makes me feel like I am in eyeshadow heaven. This palette may not be cheap but is well worth the money.

That's my top five beauty products that I tried and love this year. I hope you enjoyed this post and found it useful. These are just my thoughts and products may work differently for you. Have a happy new year!

December Favourites // 2014

As the end of the year arrives, December comes to an end and although I am going to be talking about my favourites from the year, for this post I will talking about my favourite from December. I have a few make up products and other favourites as well.

First up is a Blush in Sleek in the shade 'Life's a Peach'. I brought this blush in the beginning of December and haven't stopped wearing it since. I always love Sleek products and this blush is so pigmented and is the perfect peachy colour.

Up next is a bronzer from Bourjois and is their famous chocolate bronzer which everyone talks about. I love the actual product however the packaging isn't my favourite. The shade is perfect for me and isn't too dark or orange and smells amazing.

The eyeshadow palette that I have been using a lot recently is the MUA Undressed Palette. This is the dupe of the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette and I love it and the quality is just amazing and it only cost £4 and the shades are perfect for this time of year.

The nail polish of the year comes from Barry M in the shade 'Red Glitter' which is perfect for this time of year. I think I used this nail polish around three or four times this month because it is my favourite for Christmas.

At last a candle has made it into my favourites again! The candle I have been burning has been 'November Rain' from Yankee Candle. I know this isn't the correct month for this candle but it smells so good and smells fresh.

I'm sure you could have guessed what songs I have been listening to and it has been Christmas songs non-stop. I love Christmas songs and my favourite was Christmas Baby Please Come Home and many others.

This month I have discovered a new TV show and is 'How To Get Away With Murder'. This Tv show is so good and if you like Harry Potter than you may recognise one of the many characters. I would seriously recommend you try it.

Well that's everything from December and all my favourites. These are just my thoughts and don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' and Twitter.

What I Got For Christmas // 2014

Merry Christmas! I hope you all had a great Christmas and got some lovely presents. Anyway I thought it was about time that I showed you what I got for Christmas this year. I would like to say that I am very lucky and very thankful for my family and friends and they are very kind to gift me with these wonderful presents that I have received this Christmas. If you would like to see what I got for Christmas then look no further...

The first little presents I received was a pack of pretty hair clips from new look, a set of rings from H&M and a pack of three glittery nail files. I love wearing the rings and the clips are perfect for doing half up and down dos' and who doesn't love a good glittery nail file.

Next up, I received a couple of clothing items. I received the world's fluffiest socks from New look in a light purple coloured pattern. I also got a purple fluffy jumper which is perfect for wearing with a black skater skirt. One of my favourite gifts is a white scarf from Superdry that is knited on the outside and fluffy on the inside.

Another little gift I got is a Magic Beads Nail Polish Set which consists of see though nail polish coat and a set of beads that are tipped over the top of the wet nail polish. This nail polish set is perfect for nail polish lover like me.

As a beauty and skincare lover, I was very excited to receive some soap and glory products. I received a body lotion, a orangeasm body butter and a breakfast scrub that smells like heaven. I personally love soap and glory products because they smell so nice and I may even do a couple of reviews on them.

Of course because I love beauty products I got a Mango and Strawberry body wash from Boots. I love these body washes because they smell amazing. Another item I got was The Body Shop Coconut Hand Cream which is one of the most amazing thing I have ever smelt.

It isn't Christmas without receiving candles and I got a candle holding and Snowflake Cookies and Christmas Eve from Yankee Candle. I love the Christmas scented candles and will be burning them. I also got lovely Christmas themed candle.

As I have moved out, I love having photo frames around the flat and this double side photo frame is perfect. I also got a make up mirror which is great for applying make up and has a zoom mirror as well.

I didn't know whether to add chocolate but I thought why not because everyone should have a bucket load of chocolate and of course chocolate coins.

I have been rather interested in reading this book by Zoella because I have heard so many people raving about it. I have started reading it and I love it so I have high hopes.

I don't own any Mac Make Up, so these two items are my two favourite Christmas presents. I received the Mac Well-Dressed Powder Blush and Mac Frost Lipstick in Angle. I have been asking for these products for ages and I love them.

I am so thankful to all my wonderful and loving family and friends that gifted me these amazing presents. I am in no way bragging or showing off but rather want to share with you guys what I received as I also love reading these posts too.

What did you receive this year?

Budget Bronzer: Bourjois Delice De Poudre Bronzing Powder

I'm back with a budget beauty product but before I get into that, I would like to say a big sorry for not blogging as much recently which is mainly due to me being sick and the craziness that surrounds Christmas. However saying this, I have had the chance to try out a few new make up products. I recently decided that I wanted to try out a bronzer and so I checked out some blogs and videos (as you do) and noticed that a lot of people were raving about the Bourjois Delice De Poudre Bronzing Powder or it is more commonly know, the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer.

If you couldn't tell from the picture above, the bronzer is in a chocolate shape which gives it the nickname however I personally don't think it smells like chocolate but rather like sunscreen. Saying this, I love it! This bronzer isn't too shimmy or glittery or orange. I have the shade 51 which I believe is the lightest they do.

The product its self isn't too dark or intense but gives a light bronze colour and is perfect for the paler girls out there. You only really need a light dusting of the powder and your good to go. The packaging of the product isn't any thing special unless your a chocolate lover and can be hard to travel with but is slim and fits into a make up perfectly.  This bronzer cost £7.99 and can be brought from Boots or Superdrug.

Have you tried the Bourjois Chocolate Bourjois?

Winter Nail Colours

If there is one thing that I love it is nail polish and I love how the colours change throughout the seasons and my favourite season is winter and mainly because of Christmas. Because of this, I thought why not show you my favourite colours for Christmas time...

One colour that is perfect for this time of year is Purple. Because of this, I own many different shades of purple and this includes light purples, berry purples and dark purples. My personal favourite is the Barry Hi-Shine 'Plum', Barry M 'Berry Cosmo' and Barry M 'Vintage Violet'. If you can't already tell, I love Barry M nail polishes and they cost between £2.99-£3.99.

The other shade that is great for Christmas time is red and I have one from Max Factor and Barry M. I love having bright red colours and my personal favourite is Max Factor 'Red Passion'. The other shade of red is a darker berry red and my favourite is Barry M 'Raspberry'. The Max Factor nail polish cost £5.99 and again Barry M cost £2.99.

What are you favourite Christmas nail polishes?

Skincare Tips for Beginners

If there is one thing that I am always trying its skincare products and when I first started wearing make up and taking more care of my skin I wasn't sure where to start as the world of skincare can be rather overwhelming. Bearing this in mind, I have come up a few tips for skincare beginners..

The number one tip I have for skincare beginners is finding the right skincare regimen for you and sticking with it. This means finding products that your skin likes and don't react to them. However this is easier said than done because everyone's skin is different and different skin on different parts of the face. Some people have dry skin, some people have oily skin and others have a combination of oily and dry skin. The basic skincare steps are normally cleansing, exfoliating and moisturising.

In the morning and night, the skin needs to be cleaned and the way to achieve this is by using a cleanser. Cleansing is important because the debris from the pores needs to be removed so the skin can breath and so that other products can be absorbed. Cleanser can be applied with the hands however if you wear a lot of make up, I would recommend using a hot cloth to help or a Clarisonic face brush.

There are a number of different types of cleansers such as oils, balms, creams and wipes. My personal favourites are balms or creams because they feel creamy and soft on the skin and are gentle as well. If your looking for a budget cleanser, I would recommend the Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser which cost about £4.99. A great middle range cleanser would be the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish which is very popular in the beauty world. If your willing to spend a bit more the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Cleansing Balm is good as well.

Another important step is exfoliating and this is done to unclogged pores. Clogged pores are due to dead skin cells, dirt, oil and make up which get stuck in the pores. This prevents any build up so the skin can breath. Extra gentle and sensitive skin may require extra gentle exfoliating and if you have very sensitive skin, you may need to mix it with your cleanser. If you suffer from acne, you may want to use one with salicylic acid in it. My personal favourites are the Simple Kind To Skin Smoothing Facial Scrub, Clean and Clear Blackhead and The Greatest Scrub of All by Soap and Glory.

One of the most important things to do is moisturise. Something that is often mistaken is that people with oily skin don't need to moisturise however that is never the answer. Even people with oily skin need moisturiser but rather a light oil-free moisturiser. It is rather important to get a hydrating moisturiser so that the skin can trap as much as possible. The moisturisers I love include Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser and Nivea Daily Essentials Light Day Cream.

That has got to be one of the longest posts I have written in a while. I hope you found this post interesting and helpful. I am not a skincare expert and these are just  my own tips and these are the products that work well for me.

What are your favourite skincare products?

Superdrug Vitamin E Leave On Mask

Another post about face masks! I do love a good face mask and this one is no different. I have recently started using the Vitamin E Cleanser and love it so when I was in Superdrug a couple of weeks ago, I thought why not pick up this leave on mask and give it a go. I have never tried a leave on mask before so this was a new experience for me and if you have never tried this mask you may find it weird when you first use it.

As you may be able to tell from the picture above that the texture isn't like a normal mask but a strange jelly like texture instead. I'm not knocking the texture but if you don't like jelly textures this may not be the mask for you.

I apply the mask by scooping a pea sized amount and then just spreading it across my face and then leaving it. It may seem weird to leave it on but after a while it begins to sink in and feels rather cooling. After 15 minutes you can either rub the rest of the mask into the skin or remove it with a cotton pad but I just normally leave it to fully sink in. I usually apply the mask about half an hour before bed so that my mask has basically sunk in.

I love using this mask because it hydrates and moistures my face and also cools my face down. I use this as often as I want but generally I use it every other night and I also need to mention the smell of this mask because it smells like sunscreen which I like but others may not.

Have you tried this mask before? What did you think?

December Drugstore Haul

If there is one thing I love, its make up shopping and I have done a little bit of beauty shopping. This haul contains make up and beauty and bath products. I thought why not show you what I brought and if you want a sneaky peek into my shopping basket than here we go...

Sleek Blushers 'Life's A Peach' & 'Rose Gold'
Believe it or not I only own one blusher from Sleek so when I was on Amazon, I came across a couple of blushers and I picked up a couple that caught my eye. These blushers included 'Life's A Peach' and 'Rose Gold' which each cost £4.99 and have amazing pigmentation and are very compact.

Nars Eyeshadow Duo 'Bouthan'
This is my first ever Nars Eyeshadow Duo and it contains a very light pink shade and a slightly dark pink shade which contains glitter. I picked this duo because it wason sale and only cost £17 but I also love these girly shades and the pigmentation is amazing and the eyeshadows are very buttery and blend well.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish '28'
When I was food shopping in Tesco, I came across this lipstick and I thought why not pick it up. This lipstick is a 'your lips but better' pink shade and I love it. I generally love the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks because they are great quality and have great lasting power.

Topshop Blusher and Bourjois Bronzer
I hadn't ever tried any make up from Topshop before so I when I was walking around Topshop I decided to pick one of their blushers in 'Good Girl' which is a barbie pink colour and is very pigmented. I also brought the famous Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer because I had heard so many good things about it. I love this bronzer because it is amazing and matches my skin well.

Soap and Glory Scrub & L'oreal Micellar Water
I have always wanted the Sugar Crush Scrub from Soap and Glory and I may have already talked about this scrub because I love it so much. It is a sugar scrub which isn't as good as a salt scrub however I love it because it leaves me feeling smooth and soft and smells amazing. I am beginning to run out of my Ganier Micellar Water so I thought why not try the L'oreal Micellar water which cost £2.99.

That's all the beauty products that I brought! I brought these products with my own money and I hope you enjoyed my haul. These are just my thoughts and if you have any questions than feel free to leave me a comment and don't forget to follow me on bloglovin!

What beauty products have you brought recently?

Urban Decay Eyeshadow 'Toasted'

I recently brought a new eyeshadow and it happens to be from Urban Decay and it has become one of my favourite eyeshadows. I brought the shade 'Toasted' which is a pinkly champagne colour which is the perfect everyday and I love it.

If there is one thing I love its the Urban Decay Packaging that the eyeshadows come in and really shows that it is truly a more high end brand. The eyeshadow comes in a sliver packaging and is small and compact and perfect for travelling with.

I love using this eyeshadow because it contains a bit of shimmer and is perfect for an everyday look. This eyeshadow is so buttery and blends like a dream and is very pigmented. I love using this eyeshadow as a base before adding a darker brown colour to add a smokiness to the look. However I also wear it my itself if I am having a neutral eyeshadow type of day. This eyeshadow is quickly becoming of my favourite eyeshadows ever.

What's your favourite eyeshadow?

Budget Buy: A Dreamy Night Cleanser

If there is one budget product that I love it is cleansers and my favourite is the Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser. I first heard about this from Ghost Parties and Miss Budget Beauty who talked about how good this cleanser is. I love this cleanser so much, I thought why not review it...

The packaging of the cleanser is sleek and looks very professional. As you can see, this product comes in a box which also contains a hot cloth to remove the cleanser. The actual bottle itself is pink and contains 200ml which is quite a lot and the product easily comes out when given a squeeze.

The cleanser is very creamy and smells very nice. The smell has been described as smelling like sun-cream which I don't mind. Some other people find the smell strange however I find it fine. I love how creamy the cleanser is. I have quite sensitive skin however this cleanser doesn't string or upset my skin or eye which is a bonus.

I use this cleanser as a second cleanse rather than a first. I remove my make up with some make up remover and cotton pads before than going in with this cleanser. I find that this cleanser really cleans my skin and leaves it feeling smooth and soft.

At £4.99 this cleanser is a must have and is worth a try. These are just my thoughts and this cleanser may be different on different skins. This is a great cleanser and can be brought from many Superdrugs.

Have you tried this cleanser before? What did you think?

Christmas Stocking Fillers // 2014

Christmas is edging nearer each day and this fact excites me massively and I thought why not crack out my Christmas Stocking Fillers. I created a Christmas Stocking list for girls who are in love with beauty and fashion. These ideas would be great for daughters, nieces and girlfriends...

First up is a nail polish and comes from Essie, I love Essie nail polishes because they are such great quality and last such a long time. I would suggest these for Christmas stockings because they are small and fit in stockings. Essie often have collections out at this time of such as Christmas or fall collections.

Next up is lipstick from Rimmel. I love the Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish lipsticks and come in many different colours and my personal favourite is '107' which is a dark colour. These lipsticks cost £4.99 which is a great price and these lipsticks fill into stockings perfectly.

If there is one thing I love its rings and they are great little gifts to put into Christmas stockings and you can get fairly cheap rings from many stores such as New Look, Asos and Boohoo. These are the perfect presents for girls who love rings.

I can't do a Christmas post without mentioning a Soap and Glory product and I feel that a mini of The Righteous Butter would be great. I love this body butter because it smells amazing and only cost £2.99 which is such a good bargain and fills up a good amount of space in the stockings.

Up next is a wallet from New Look and any girl would love to receive this gift in the Christmas stocking. This wallet cost £12.99 which is a great price and is a fairly big gift so it would take up a lot of space and this is a very fashionable wallet.

Another nail polish and this one is from Barry M. One thing I love about Barry M is that they come out with glitter nail polishes and these make great stocking fillers. These nail polishes cost between £2.99-£4.99 which means you can buy a couple of nail polishes.

The last product is another product from Soap and Glory and is their Flake Away Body Stuff is one of my favourite and smells like a true soap and glory product and only cost £2.99. This product would be a perfect for girls who love pampering and fits perfectly into a Christmas stocking.

What products do you like having in your Christmas stocking?
