September Favourites | 2016

How is it already the end of September? I was hoping to get more posts up but this month seems to have slipped by me and now its almost October. I'm still planning on uploading more but at the moment, I have so much work to do and life just seems to be getting in the way but anyway on to the favourites. I have been wearing more make up this month but its been pretty much the same products because at seven o'clock in the morning I'm in no mood to mix up the make up. So there aren't many favourites but they are most certainly my favourites.

If there is one lip product I have been wearing , it has be the Rimmel 107 Lipstick. I know that everyone cracks out this lipstick around this time of year but I do love wearing it. I find this shade of red berry to suit my skin tone perfectly and is a long lasting matte formula. The nail polish of the month is the Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Polish in 'Starfish' which is a light brown neutral shade. I don't normally go for such a natural colour but this is neutral shade is ideal for work and university.

I haven't been wearing a whole lot of face make up as a few spots have appeared so I've just stuck with eyeshadow this month. The palette of choice has been the Tanya Burr Hollywood Eye Palette which contains four light brown and glittery shades. I love this palette because its compact and the shades allow you to create a natural look as well as a night out glitter look. The other eye product is the Mac Paintpot in 'Groundwork' that I have been wearing pretty much everyday as a base. I know I featured this in last months favourites but I wanted to be honest and just say its been my favourite again.

What have your September favourites been?

The Works & Poundland Craft Haul

One of my favourite hobbies at the moment has to be craft making as I find it so relaxing and calming. So when I was in town the other day, I decided to pick up some more craft items from The Works and Poundland. I find that these stores are always underrated when it comes to shopping but they have some amazing bargains and craft essentials and I thought I would show you what I picked up.

The first two things I picked up come from The Works. Although there are quite a few stores around me, not everyone stocks the same thing so when I spotted the Fun Fair themed Washi Tape I couldn't help but pick it up. This Washi Tape pack contains one blue patterned thinner tape and a thicker tape which has fun fair tickets printed on it. As soon as I saw the set of tape, I knew it would be perfect for card making and decorating and cost £1. I also picked up a set of 29 Clear Alphabet Stamps which were also a £1. I have been on the hunt for some Alphabet stamps for a while and when I spotted this set, I couldn't resist. However I have tried these stamps and they haven't got the best quality but for such a cheap price, you can't really complain.

The main reason why I went into The Works was to see if they had any Paperstack Packs as I have seen a few bloggers talking about them. I was delighted to see that they had them in stock and pick up the Floral Happiness Paperstack for £3. These paperstack contains 24 sheets of Double-sided printed paper which has a range of different patterns, making it ideal for cards as well as backgrounds for pictures. If your looking for paperstack packs for an amazing price, I would recommend checking the The Works.

The other shop I popped into was Poundland as I saw a blogger raving about there craft section. However when I visited my local store, they didn't have the biggest section but I did find a couple of pieces. The first piece was the Pretty Pastels Paperstack which costs a £1. This paperstack contains 32 sheets with 4 x 8 designs which is smaller than the previous paperstack but includes some lovely designs. The final product in this haul is the Mini Glitter Embellishments that cost £1. When I spotted these mini glitter embellishments in the style of cupcakes, I couldn't help but pick them up.

Are you into Arts & Crafts? Where are your favourite places to shop?

Starting University | My Tips & Tricks

Its that time of the year again when universities begin a new year and everyone moves in. This is definitely very true for me as I am surrounded by all my belongings, trying my best to stuff at into my car boot. Although this is my final year at university, this time is different because my younger brother is off to university as well. I remember my first couple of weeks at university very clearly and as I am giving advice to my brother in bucket loads, I thought why not pop up a post about it too. So here is my top tips and tricks for starting university or for just being more adult like.

Budget & Save
Budgeting may seem like a silly thing to point out but believe me, it really makes a difference at university. At the beginning of each week, I write down everything that requires money or bills that are due, and create a total budget for that week. If no bills are due that week, I will often take out a set amount of money for the week and I don't allow myself to take any more money out. This may seem silly but my shopping habits are out of control at times. Saving is another great thing to do at university, so that when it comes to special events, you don't have to miss out on them because you have no money left.

Don't Go Over Board On the Homeware
When I first started university, everyone had the most expensive cooking equipment, towels and bed linen. But I quickly learnt that it really isn't worth it because they are so many amazing places that have great homeware products for a cheaper price. My favourite places include Primark, H&M, New Look and TK Maxx, In terms of kitchen ware, I would recommend Homebase as they have a massive selection at a reasonable price.

Meal Plan
Planning your meals ahead of time is one of the most helpful things you can do at university. To some people, it may seem like the worse thing in the world and that's fine but for me, I need a plan. I normally sit down on Saturday Night and write down all the meals for the week in my planner. Crazy Saturday Night! By planning breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next week, it allows you to ensure that you don't overspend when food shopping and means you don't the issue of getting home and having to think of what to cook. I also love cooking in bulk as I normally cook in big quantities as I have a big family, so when I'm living by myself I still cook the same amount but just pop the left overs in the freezer and reheat in the microwave later in the week.

Walk & Cycle Everywhere
I don't own a car as I don't drive, so I don't have the worry of thinking about bringing a car. However it does mean I have to figure out other ways of getting around. When discussing this topic with my brother, the idea of cycling came up. I personally don't cycle around the city I live in as I am a terrible cyclist and would definitely be run over. However my brother has fixed up his bike up and is planning on cycling everywhere. But if you have the cycling ability that I have then walking around and hopping on a bus may be your best bet. Most universities will run a bus pass scheme as well.

I hope you have found these tips useful and gives you an idea of things to do to make the jump to university smoother. Sorry I haven't been posting as much but I am planning on changing that so thanks for sticking around.

What would your tips and advice for starting university?

August Favourites | 2016

I'm back today with a quick favourites post. I wasn't planning on making a favourites post until I came back from my holiday but by then it would be half way through September so instead I am writing it half way through August. This is going to be a quick one as I haven't really tried anything new and if I'm being honest I haven't worn much make up at all but here are the few products that made it onto my face.

The only new product that has made it onto my favourites post is the Mac Pro Longwear Paintpot in 'Groundwork'. I haven't previously owned a paint pot from Mac but I have always loved cream eyeshadows so when I saw this paintpot at a discounted price, I jumped at the chance to pick it up. I have been wearing it non stop and is a great base product. The only other eyeshadow product I have been using is the Elf single eyeshadow in Sable Brown which is a light brown shade that gives the eye lid some definition. The Milani Baked Blusher in Luminoso is a firm summer favourite of mine and gives a wonderful summer flush.

The lip product that I have been reaching for is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Pink Pong which is a very bright pink shade. In the past I have been too scared to wear this colour as it is very bold recently, I have been pushing myself to wear brighter shades and this one is my favourite so far. The nail polish of choice comes from Rimmel in the shade Fancy a Dip which is a light baby blue shade ideal for the summer time.

What have your Augsut favourites been?

My Travel Essentials | 2016

As I write this, I am surrounded by clothes and make up because I am in the process of packing for my holiday and I thought I would share with you my travel essentials. I'm not actual going on a plane but rather taking the car but because I am going for a long period of time, the essentials I will be bringing will still be similar so here we go.

First up is make up wipes. I don't use make up wipes to remove my make up (thanks Caroline Hirons) but rather for any messes or make up spills that occur. My favourite wipes to use are the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes as they are gentle and effective at removing any make up left on my hands or any eyeliner that has gone wrong. I also carry them in case one of my little brothers ends up with sticky hands (big sister duties). Another travel must has to be hand gel to get rid of any unwanted germs. I always carry hand gel with me and am sure I have one in each bag but you can never be too sure! Along with hang gel comes hand cream. I can't stand dry hands so I have to ensure that I have some with me and my choice for this holiday is The Body Shop Coconut Hand Cream.

Travel minis is the best part of travelling right?! As soon as I find out I am going on holiday, I head towards the mini section in Boots. There is nothing more exciting then little bottles of shampoo and condition. My choice of hair care products comes from TREsemme as their shampoo and condition are amazing. I am also planning to bring shower gel (obviously) but I forgot to add it to the photo. In terms of skincare, I take as many products as I can which normally equals a full routine. So order to take a full routine I normally have to put the products into smaller containers which I often buy from Primark for £1.

Hairbands. Never forget hairhands! I did once and it didn't end well at all. I always like to bring a fair few in case I lose or break them. I just buy the Superdrug own brand hairbands as they are cheap and do the job. When it comes to make up brushes, I don't normally do anything different, but recently I spotted a Real Technique Brush Travel Set and is great for travelling with. It contains an eyeshadow, foundation and face brush and of course you will need a compact mirror while travelling and mine is from Primark. Finally pain killers. I personally don't take painkillers but if one of my family members gets a headache then these come in handy.

What are your travel essentials?

Mac Pro Longwear Paintpot | Groundwork

I am a massive fan of cream eyeshadows and own eight colour tattoos from Maybelline so when I noticed this Mac Pro Longwear Paintpot in 'Groundwork' for a discounted price, I couldn't help but pick it up. I have heard so many amazing reviews on these cream eyeshadow pots from Mac so I had high hopes for this product and it didn't disappoint.

I would describe the shade as warm chocolate toned brown colour and is a gorgeous natural shade. I often use this shade if i'm having one of those days where I can't be bothered to apply any fancy eyeshadow. This cream eyeshadow is quickly becoming one of my all time favourites because it is so easy and quick to apply and is the perfect everyday shade. The formula is of a thick creamy type that glides onto the lid and can be applied by the fingers or brush and comes in a little glass pot ideal for travel.

Overall I am in love with this cream eyeshadow and has replaced my love for the colour tattoo in 'On and On Bronze'. I would say it is similar to the bronze maybelline eyeshadow but contains less shimmer and glitter and makes you look a bit more adult like. That's it for this post and I know its been a short one hopefully you enjoyed it.

Have you tried this cream eyeshadow before?

Travel Makeup Bag | 2016

I'm very excited as I write this because I'm on holiday and relaxing but I thought I would knock out a few extra pre-written posts so that I didn't leave the blog without any posts for two weeks. As I am packing for the holiday, I thought I would share with you my travel make up items. The make up bag I will be using comes from Next and was given to me for Christmas and is pink and beige with rose gold hard wear. I really like using this bag as it is big enough to fit all the make up my heart desires into it.

For base products, I will be taking the Bourjois CC Cream because it is my favourite foundation as it is light and easy to apply. I also brought this cream because it feels very comfortable and doesn't feel greasy. To help my cc cream stay in place, I am bringing the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder. I always use this powder as it is my favourite powder for keeping me matte and doesn't break me out. I never know if eye primer is a base product or not but I thought I would add it to my base and helps to keep my eyeshadow in.

When talking about face products, I am going to bring blushers and a bronzer. Sleek has to be one of my favourite brands because they have very sleek and thin packaging. The bronzer of choice is the Sleek Contour Kit in light as it is contains a matte bronzer ideal for travel. The blushers are the Sleek Blush by three in Pink Lemonade and  H&M Pure Radiance Powder Blusher in Golden Peach.

Eyeshadows are my favourite make up product to play around with so when it comes to travelling, I often bring a few. The eyeshadows palettes that I'm bringing include the Freedom Pro 12 Audacious 3 and Fleurdeforce Quad in 'Cosmic Bronnze' as well as the Kiko Eyeshadow Stick '05' which is a great base. In terms of eye liners, I picked the Stila Waterproof Smudge Stick in 'lionfish' and the Soap & Glory Supercat Liquid Liner.

Lastly comes the lip products. Normally I go for neutral lip products so I picked the Rimmel Provocalips in Make Your Move as it is very comfortable and long lasting. The other product is the Relvon Moisture Stain in Barcelona nights which is a bright hot pink colour. The lip liners of choice are the Kiko Creamy Colour Comfort Lip Liner in '314' which is great for creating a darker lip colour as well as the Maybelline Coloursensational Lip Liner in Intensive pink which is great for creating a mid toned pink.

What do you keep in your travel make up bag?

Summer Lip Edit

I'm back today with a new post about lip products ideal for the summer time. Recently I have been struggling with inspiration for posts but it occurred to me that I hadn't talked about my favourite lip products to wear during the summer so here we go. There are generally three categories that I choose from which include nudes, everyday pinks and bright pinks. The formula of lip products I adore most is matte which will be reflected in my choices.

In terms of nudes, there are two which I have been turning towards. The first is the Rimmel Provocalips 'Make Your Move' which is a dark brown nude colour. The Provocalips lip range have a liquid texture to them which dries to a matte finish that doesn't smudge. In fact, I have to use a cleansing balm to remove it at the end of the day because of the lasting power. The other nude lip item is the Mac Lipstick in 'Angel' which is a frost formula. I recently featured this in my July Favourites as I have been wearing it non stop. However frost isn't my favourite formula but when paired with a lip liner this is a great product.

The everyday pinks have to be my favourite shades to rock as they match every outfit and are comfortable to wear. The first one is the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet 'So Hap' Pink' which is a mid toned pink with coral tones to it. The formula of this lipstick is of a liquid lipstick which has a matte finish. I have to say that all of the lip products from this range are great. The other product is the Collection Cream Puff 'Cotton Candy' which is a more dusty mid toned pink. This has a very similar formula but I would say has a drier texture and has a vanilla scent to it.

The shades I have most fun with is the bright pink colours. The first product is the Revlon Colourstay Moisture Stain 'Barcelona Nights' which is a bight pink coral shade that has a liquid texture. Unlike the other lip products mentioned, this one doesn't dry to a matte finish but rather wears away to a stain. For girls who like a low maintenance lip product, this may be the one for you. The final product is the Maybelline Colour Drama 'Fuchsia Desire' which is a blue toned bright pink. This product comes in pencil form making it easy to apply and dries to a moisturising matte finish which is very comfortable to wear.

What is your favourite lip product to wear during the summer?

Planner Haul | Stamps & Washi Tape

I have recently become obsessed by a new hobby of mine which is planning and paper craft making. I featured this new obsession in a previous post in which I talked about my new planner and all the things I use to decorate it. However over the past couple of weeks, I have placed a couple of orders online as well as picking up a few pieces while shopping and I thought I would share them with you.

One of my favourite things to use in my planner other than stickers is stamps. The first type of stamps I picked up were planner related and come from Amazon. The stamps I got include the Waffle Flower 'Planner Stay Focused', Hero Arts Clearly Kelly 'Fitness' & 'Foodie'. All of these stamps are ideal for making 'to do lists' and tracking gym exercises and activities as well as meal planning and creating shopping lists.

The other type of stamps I brought were from The Works. This store is one of my favourite places to find cheap deals on a range of craft items such as washi tape, papers and stamps. One set of stamps contains different types of flowers which would be great for decorating pages and scrap booking. The other set of stamps is a France travel set as I am travelling in a few weeks and is perfect for me.

Other than stamps, I also brought a couple of sets of washi tapes. The first set come from Amazon and contains four rolls of glitter tape and is amazing for placing at the bottom of the page. This glitter tape is also great for card making. The other type of washi tape is from Sainsburys and is a pack of three tapes all of which have a pastel pattern.

Have you brought any craft or stationary items?

July Favourites | 2016

July where did you go? I know it gets said too often but seriously how is it already the end of July. Before I get into my favourites of the month, I need to make an apology because I haven't been as active on the blog or social media. I didn't mean to be so quiet but my summer job and family have kept me busy and away my laptop. However I am going to make it one of my goals this month to create more posts. If you are still hanging around thank you so much and here are my monthly favourites from July.

H&M Pure Radiance Powder Blush 'Golden Peach'
During this month, I have been wearing lighter and less make up but one make up product that I always apply is blusher. I feel that blusher gives your skin more life and glow and the one blusher I have been turning to is from H&M. 'Golden Peach' is a lovely peachy pink shade with gold shimmer running through it. This blusher gives the perfect summer glow and blends easily into the skin.

Barry M Lip Liner '15 Rose'
If you haven't read any of my previous posts, you may not know that I have a slight obsession with trying lip liners and my newest find comes from Barry M. I don't really like spending a lot of money on lip liners so when I saw the price of the Barry M ones I couldn't help but pick up a few. Although the packaging isn't anything to shout about, the actual product is soft, smooth, pigmented and long lasting. Amazing!

Mac Frost Lipstick 'Angel'
As most beauty bloggers do, I own a few Mac lipsticks but one that hasn't really had much use would be 'Angel' because I found that it didn't last very long. However a couple of weeks back, I paired it with the Barry M Lip Liner and was blown away by the lasting power. It is quickly becoming one of my favourite lip combinations and is my ideal nude colour. I'm so happy that I'm finally getting a lot of use out of a Mac Lipstick that is such a lovely shade.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 Hour Leather Effect 'Creamy Beige'
In terms of eyeshadow, I haven't really worn much as I have been working a lot and sleeping the rest of the time. However when I do end up leaving the house, I often apply the Cream eyeshadow in 'Creamy Beige'. This colour has been described as a light brown shade that evens out the skin tone and creates a matte base to apply other eyeshadows over the top.

Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paint 'Peach For The Starts'
When it came to picking out my nail polish of the month, I couldn't really pick one that really stood out until I came across this peachy orange shade. I love wearing peachy toned shades during the summer months as it feels bright and fun. I am also a fan of the Daylight Curing Nail Polishes from Barry M as they are very long lasting and have a gel like finish. If your a fan of gel nails, I would highly recommend checking out these nail polishes.

What are your monthly favourites?

Barry M Lip Liners

I am a massive fan of lip liners but one brand that I haven't tried lip liners from is Barry M so when saw Zoella raving about them in her favourites video, I couldn't myself but pick up a few to try. I have been trying these liners over the past few days and what I have noticed is that they are a bit hit and miss in terms of texture. 'Rose 15' and 'Dark Pink 2' have a soft and smooth texture and glide onto the lips easily whereas 'Mulberry 9' has a drier texture and requires more pressure to achieve the pigmentation needed.

My favourite lip liner of the three would have to be 'Rose 15' which I have been wearing non stop and is the perfect nude for my skin. When I went into Superdrug I found that Barry M had a range of shades which I was surprised by. Even though the quality isn't the same throughout the whole range, the price of £2.99 per lip liner is just amazing and can't be beaten.

Have you tried the Barry M Lip Liners before?

Must-Have Make Up Brushes

As a make up lover, an obsession with make up brushes is only natural. There are so many amazing make up brushes and I own quite a few but the other day I noticed that I use the same brushes pretty much everyday and I thought I would share them with you.

Many amazing brushes have high price tags but one brand that create make up brushes for a great price is Real Techniques. Real Techniques have a range of different brushes but one of my must have brushes is the Real Technique 'Expert Face Brush'. This brush is used to blend in my foundation and because it has a small head making it ideal for applying foundation to my face. My other must have brush from Real Techniques is their 'Blush Brush' which is perfect for applying blusher to the cheeks. The last must have brush from my collection is the Zoeva 'Luxe Smoky Shader' which I use to apply eyeshadow to the lids. Zoeva has a lot of hype around the quality of the brushes and with good reason because I love using this brush.

What are your favourite brushes?

Favourite Lip Combination

I will be the first to admit that I have more make up than any girl would ever need but at the moment there has been one lip combination in particular that I have been wearing non stop over the last couple of weeks. Most people during the summer months wear nudes or pinks but the shade that I have been obsessed with lately has been a dark pink nude colour as I find that other light nude shades don't really suit me very well.

The first part of my lip combination is a creamy colour comfort lip liner from Kiko in '314 Marsala'. I love Kiko lip liners as they are creamy and long lasting as well as being fairly reasonable in price. Although Kiko isn't widely available, a new shop has recently popped up near me so I'm sure I will be checking out and trying some new products from them. I find that this lip liner feels comfortable on the lips and makes applying lipstick over the top very easy and simple to do.

Over the top of the lip liner, I apply the Soap & Glory Matte Lipstick in 'Pom Pom'. I believe it was Mikhila from Miss Budget Beauty who introduced me to this lipstick and when I swatched it, I couldn't help myself but buy it. It is one of those 'your lips but better' shades and really suits my skin tone. Both of these products together creates a comfortable, long lasting product with great pigmentation.

What are your favourite lip combination?

Planner Overview + Sticker Haul

I have been thinking about writing a post about my new planner for a couple of weeks now but I wasn't sure whether it seemed interesting enough or if it would fit into my blog theme but over the last of days I have become completely obsessed by my planner and the planner world on YouTube that I thought I would share my planner with you anyway. I believe that Mikhila from Miss Budget Beauty first introduced me to the world of planners and that's when I became hooked.

When I first decided I wanted a planner, I immediately turned to the Erin Corden Vertical Life Planner but after looking at the shipping price, I went to look else where. I wasn't sure what type of planner I wanted but eventually I came across  and placed an order soon after. The main thing that draw me towards this planner was that I could create everything to suit me and I am very pleased with it.

As the name of this planner would suggest you can customise many aspects of the planner and one of those things was the monthly overview which I have before the start of each month. I enjoy having this overview as it allows me to easily glance at the month and all the appointments and events that I have. I also decided to add it as the Erin Corden also contains a monthly view.

The inside of the planner contains week by week views and this can be customised as well. I decided to choose the vertical format as it's ideal for making lists and is different from other planners. I find the vertical format perfect for writing and suits my style of planing. The colour of the top and bottom bar is completely up to you but I did pick pink. There are many add ons that can be attached to bottom bar such as water trackers but I decided to keep it as plain as possible. The only negative thing about this type of layout is that the weekend is split in half but for me it isn't a problem.

After that overview I thought I would give you a look at a previous week I have planned. As you can tell, I really like to use stickers to plan. If your interested in this type of planning I believe it is called Glam Planner and there are so many videos particularly from Elle Fowler. The type of stickers I use are generally designed for the Erin Corden Vertical Planner but still fit in perfectly to this vertical format. As you may be able to tell, I like all the stickers to match and to have a them and these stickers are all from a printable kit from BeaYoutiful.

There are many different places you can purchase stickers depending on what type of stickers you would like and how much money you are willing to spend. One of my favourite places to search for cheap and fun stickers would be amazon. The stickers on the left are all from amazon and will be used over a few months. The most popular place to buy stickers would be etsy as most of them are targeted for the Erin Corden Planner but can always be adapted and changed to fit your needs. The stickers on the right are from an etsy shop called 'PlanWithJade' and she had some amazing kits! If your on a budget than you could buy some sticker paper and create your own or print off some printables that you can download from pinterst.

I also like to add washi tape to the bottom of my weekly spreads to add a fun touch. Washi tape is generally sold in most places but my tapes come from, Poundland, Tiger, Superstores as well as Amazon. I am also looking into getting stamps as well but for now its just stickers and tape. I hope you have found this post interesting and gives you an insight into my planner and accessories. If you guys are into your planning as well I would love to know what type of accessories you use!
