January Favourites | 2016

How is it already the end of January?! I swear it was only Christmas just a few days ago. This month has flown by in a flash but I have tried a fair few different and new products this month and some even made it into my favourites. This months favourites include a nail polish, cream eyeshadow, blush palette and matte balm.

Revlon Matte Balm 'Fiery' I have been trying a range of different lip products recently but one that stands out for me is the Revlon Matte Balm in a red berry shade which I reviewed a few weeks ago. I hadn't previously tried a matte balm but the creamy and long lasting formula is truly addicting and I feel the need to buy more.

Essie Nail Polish 'Leggy Legend' - Essie nail polishes have to be one of my favourite nail polishes because the formula is amazing and long wearing and doesn't chip. Therefore when I spotted this bronze shade in the discounted selection in Boots, I popped it into my basket. The shade is very opaque and only requires two coats maximum.

Freedom Pro Blush & Highlighter 'Pink & Baked' - Since spotting Freedom in my local Superdrug, I have been reviewing and trying many of their products but my favourite has to be this wonderful blusher and highlighter palette. The shade range is perfect and the pigmentation is unbelievable for the cheap price tag and the sleek packaging makes it look more high end.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Creamy Matte 'Cream De Rose' - As a massive cream eyeshadow fan I love the colour tattoos and the new creamy matte additions are quickly becoming some of the most used products in my collection. The Cream De Rose shade is a light pink nude colour which works well as a base and as a natural eye shadow choice as well.

Favourite TV Show - I have been obsessed with Netflix for months but one show that I discovered recently was Brooklyn Nine Nine which makes me laugh until I cry. I love watching this show in the evening if I am relaxing and chilling out. If you haven't watched this show before then I would seriously recommend trying it.

Favourite Movies - One thing that I love doing is searching Netflixs for movies that I haven't watched before and a few that I have loved include The Martian, The Wolf of Wall Street and Avengers Assemble all of which are great watches.

I hope you have had a wonderful January and have an even better February :)

Freedom Pro Blush & Highlighter Palette | Pink & Baked

I am a massive fan of blush palettes and when I spotted this palette I couldn't help but pick it up. I have been testing out this Pro Blush and Highlighter Palette by Freedom in 'Pink & Baked' for the past couple days and thought I would give you my thoughts and impressions. The packaging of the blusher palette is very sleek and houses the blushers and highlighters in square boxes which fit together perfectly.

This palette contains matte and shimmer blushers as well as two highlighter shades. The pigmentation of the powers is unbelievable and is very strong so you only need to dip your brush in slightly. I find the texture of the blushers and higlighters to be soft and blend able and gives a wonderful glow. I personally prefer to wear the darker and matte shades but overall the selection of shades is great and will be staying in my make up collection for years to come.

Have you tried this blush and highlighter palette?

Revlon Matte Balms | Fiery

If there is one lip product that I have been wearing consistently over the last couple of weeks it has to be the Revlon Matte Balm in 'Fiery'. I had heard so many people raving about these matte balms when they were first released but never got around to trying them which it is odd as I am a massive matte fan. However a few months back I spotted this shade in Superdrug and finally purchased it.

I believe that this is a new addition to the original line up and I would describe the shade as a burgundy deep red berry colour. The texture of this matte balm is smooth, soft, buttery and comfortable on the lips and has great lasting power without drying out the lips. The product is housed in the classic lip crayon packaging which makes it easy to apply on the lips. I also have to mention the minty scent it has which disappears after applying. I can't sing enough praises for this matte balm because it is amazing!

What lip products have you been wearing recently?

Nars Eyeshadow Duo | Portobello

For Christmas I was lucky enough to receive a Nars Eyeshadow Duo in 'Portobello' and I have been using it for a couple of weeks now and I thought I would give you my impressions and thoughts on it. My wonderful mother picked out the shade and when I saw it I thought what a wonderful neutral everyday eyeshadow duo.

From the pan it may seem like a bit of a boring duo to have but these two taupe and brown shades give a very natural look which I actually favour and pairs well with a brown eye liner and a nude lip. What makes this duo so handy is that it goes with almost every outfit and lip colour making it ideal for travel and comes in the classic Nars packaging.

I would describe the texture of these eyeshadows as silky and matte while still being very blend able.. When the eyeshadows are paired together, they give the eye lids more definition and is wonderful for a natural or light make up day. If your thinking about trying a new eyeshadow duo, this one would be a great option.

Have you tried this eyeshadow duo before? What did you think?

My Favourites Shows To Watch On Netflix (UK)

For years, I thought Netflix was something that I didn't need because I have a TV and of course I just watch that but recently, I decided to try Netflix and have officially become addicted. I didn't think that I would become so obsessed with it but most evenings now consist of curling up in bed watching a TV programme which is just heaven. Because I love it so much I thought I would share  my favourite shows to watch with you...

Pretty Little Liars
If there is one TV show that everyone seems to talk about it is Pretty Little Liars. I am definitely one of those people that raves about this tv show because it not only contains scary and amazing story lines but gorgeous outfits as well. I also love that UK Netflix adds new episodes of Pretty Little Liars each week which means that you always have something to look forward to.

Once Upon a Time
Another favourite of mine is Once Upon a time and is one that I had a binge watch session of the other day because I hadn't had the time to watch it before hand. If you like fairy tales than this is the show for you as it contains many classic fairy tale characters in our world as well as their own world and is a great watch. Only the other day I got my sister obsessed with it too!

Gossip Girl
If your my age you will have been obsessed with Gossip Girl during your teenage years so when I spotted it on netflix I immediately added it to my watch list for a rainy day. I personally love watching this show when I am feeling a bit down or having an off day as it picks me up and is a show that I end up binge watching.

Doctor Who
You may not think it but I am massively Doctor Who fan and have been watching it since it was relaunched. If your a big fan of science friction and time travel then this is definitely the programme for you. I am currently watching the first series again which I personally love and is great to watch in the evening to relax you.

Sherlock
Another great British TV show is Sherlock and I am shocked to admit that I only recently discovered it and it is truly amazing. I will say that it does take some concentration to follow so it may not be the show to watch while you fall asleep because you may get lost but is a great show all the same.

What are your favourite shows to watch on Netflix?

Freedom Pro Lipstick Kit | Now Collection

Freedom is a budget brand which only recently launched and in a couple of posts back I mentioned them and I thought I would try out the lipstick collection and give you my first thoughts and impressions. When I spotted the Freedom brand I didn't know where to look or what to try but the packaging of these lipsticks caught my eye. There are five lipsticks included in this neat box that only costs £5 which is basically one pound per lipstick and I thought that was a fairly good deal.

The collection I picked up was the Now Collection which contains many different shades ranging from peach to dark brown. The box has each shade printed on the side so I knew what shades I was getting and specifically chose this selection. The packaging of the lipsticks are very sleek and compact and contains a sliver bullet which the lipstick sits in.

The pigmentation of the lipsticks is very strong as demonstrated from the photo above. I would say that the darker shades have slightly more pigmentation than the lighter shades but still produces lots of colour. In terms of texture, they are very moisturising and soft on the lips but does wear away after time which means you will need to be prepared to reapply throughout the day which I personally don't mind. Overall I was surprised by the amazing quality for such a budget price tag.

Have you tried these lipsticks before? What did you think?

Maybelline Colour Tattoo | Creamy Mattes

In my previous post, I mentioned that I hunted around Superdrug and found a couple of new shades of the colour tattoos from Maybelline. As a massive fan of the cream eyeshadows, I always check to see if any new colour tattoos have been stocked and this time around I found two creamy matte editions. I'm not sure if these creamy mattes are new to the UK but I hadn't see them before so I jumped at the chance to try them.

The shades I picked up were 'Creme De Nude' and Creme De Rose'  which were the only two available but from further research I believe that these are the only creamy mattes. 'Creme De Nude' is a yellow toned nude shade which doesn't suit my skin as much but still creates a lovely base. 'Cream De Rose' is a more pink brown toned nude which I personally prefer and is ideal for natural make up.

The texture of these creamy matte colour tattoos is very smooth and soft. As it would seem, the creamy mattes dry to a matte finish and hasn't yet creased on my eye lids. So far I am very impressed by these new editions in the original line up and hopefully more shades will become available soon.

Have you tried these Cream Mattes before? What did you think?

Superdrug & The Body Shop | Haul

There is nothing more I love than shopping the sales and picking up the latest the releases from the drugstore and I thought I would show you what I brought. I have brought a couple of products from The Body Shop as well as picking up some new products from Superdrug which caught my eye and I felt like it could made an interesting post.

I am a massive fan of The Body Shop and was thinking about buying some more products and I went onto their website and saw they had a 50% off sale plus an extra 30% off on top of the sale products so I made the most of it. I brought two body butters in 'Blueberry' and 'Grazed Apple' which both smell fruity and sweet. I also picked up a shower gel in 'Vineyard Peach' which smells truly amazing. I would seriously recommend checking out the sale.

I also made a sneaky trip to Superdrug a couple of days ago to check out any new products and came across two new Colour Tattoos from Maybelline. I am a massive fan of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos so when I spotted these creamy matte editions I couldn't help but try them. I picked up two shades in 'creme de rose' and 'creme de nude' and will be reviewing them soon. I also found a couple of new Revlon Matte Balm shades and decided to try the shade 'fiery' which looks like a red berry colour.

Another brand that caught my eye in Superdrug was Freedom which only launched recently. I believe that Freedom is a similar budget brand like Make Up Revolution, offering make up at slightly a lower price tag. Because I was very interested in the products, I thought I would pick up a few to try and review a couple of products. Therefore I decided on a Pro Blusher and Highlighter Palette and the Pro Lipstick Kit Now Collection.

Have you tried any of these products before? What did you think?

Favourites of 2015 | Skincare & Haircare

Welcome to the second part of the favourites from 2015. This post contains four products which include haircare and skincare items that I have used last year. I only picked four items to write about as a lot of skincare products are the same so I didn't see the point in talking about products which were in my 2014 favourites.

The hair product of the year is the Andrew Barton SOS Hair Repair Conditioner. Earlier in 2015, my hair felt very weak and damaged so when I was in Asda I picked up this conditioner. This conditioner leaves my hair feeling very soft, smooth and shiny which I like and has a lovely light scent as well.

The facial moisturiser of the year is the Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser. I am a massive fan of Simple and this moisturiser really hydrates my skin and gets rid of any dry patches or areas on my face. If you have sensitive skin I would recommend looking at Simple.

In terms of body moisturisers, I have loved using the Vaseline Spray Moisturiser Cocoa Radiant as it is super quick and easy to use. I always find it hard to remember to moisturise as it takes a while to apply and then takes longer to dry so I prefer using this spray moisturiser which takes seconds to sink in,

One of my favourite new discovers of skincare is the Super Facialist By Una Brennan Cleansing Oil. Back in September of 2015, I decided to change up my skincare and brought this cleansing oil to remove my make up at the end of the day. I can't tell you how amazing this cleansing oil it removing make up within seconds without stubbing your face. Amazing!

What were your skincare and haircare favourites of 2015?

Favourites of 2015 | Make Up

Over the past couple of days, I have seen many bloggers posting their favourites from 2015 so I thought I would post mine before we get too far into 2016. In previous years, I have grouped everything together but for this post I have spilt the favourites into two posts. The first post is all about the make up products which I have applied to my face the most and the second post coming soon is about the haircare and skincare products. So lets begin with the make up products...

The foundation of the year is the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation as it is the only one I regularly wear. I find this foundation has a very light texture and doesn't feel heavy or powdery on the skin. I like wearing this foundation as it gives a semi matte finish which looks more natural and doesn't let shine through. I would highly recommend trying this!

The powder I have been wearing is the Bourjois Healthy Balance. I believe that I may have talked about it in last years favourites but I couldn't help but include it again. This powder is very fine and gets rid of any shine and smells very fruity. I often wear this powder without foundation just to give a matte finish.

The bronzer of the year goes to the L'oreal Glam Bronze in '06' which was a new discovery this year. I always struggle with bronzer not many shades suit me but this one looks great with my skin tone and contains a hint of shimmer but nothing over the top. I'm also a massive fan of the simple packaging.

In terms of blusher, I may have cheated slightly. I have picked two because I couldn't just include one and the first one is the Clarins Blush Prodige in 'Sunset Coral' which is a beautiful orange and peach shade. At first glance, the colour may seem odd but when the colours are swirled together, it creates the most amazing glow and flush.

The other blusher of the year is the Illamaqua Cream Blusher in 'Seduce'. Once you get past the funny name, it is a bright hot pink blush which is fairly pigmented but blends beautifully into the cheek bones gives a winter flushed glow and doesn't smudge or move.

One palette that is a winner in my eyes is the Naked Basics 2 Palette. I brought this wonderful palette back in June of 2015 and haven't stopped using it. I didn't think I would love a matte cool toned palette as much as I like this one. Not mention the sleek, simple, cute, slim packaging that is ideal for travelling.

If Urban Decay isn't in your budget, the Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette in 'Bronze' is another favourite of mine. For £3.99 I can't fault it as it produces great shadows which contain such strong pigmentation and lasting power. The packaging many not be anything to shout about but the actual product is truly amazing for the low price tag.

On the topic of eyes, the No7 Shade and Define Eyeshadow Stick in 'Cool Mink' as been a staple for me this year. I wasn't sure I could spend money on the By Terry Ombre Black Stars so I tried this eyeshadow stick and was shocked by the amazing lasting power and easy application. If you are looking to try the By Terry Ombre Black Stars, try this one first.

Liners is something that I consistently find hard to use so I rarely do unless it is a special event but the Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Liner in 'Lionfish' is a new favourite. This liner produces a brown bronze shade and has a fine nib making it easier to apply and gives a more natural look.

For lipsticks, my favourite has been the Rimmel Kate Moss in '107' which I have worn almost everyday since I brought it. I wasn't sure the dark red berry shade would suit me but once I tried it I became obsessed and the lasting power is amazing.

Lastly comes the Mac Amplified Lipstick in 'Impassioned' which as the picture shows is a bright pink colour. I never used to wear bright or bold colours as I didn't think they suited me but this one was a big favourite back in the summer and will be cracked out again for the summer.

What are your 2015 Beauty favourites?

My Goals and Resolutions For 2016

Its 2016. What? I can't believe we are in a new year as I swear it was 2009 like a year ago?! Any who as a new year comes rolling in, I like to set myself a couple of goals and resolutions to try and achieve. I know not everyone agrees with setting resolutions but I feel that for me it works well and motivates me as well.

Maintain a Healthier Diet - This year I would like to try my best to have a healthier diet which doesn't mean eating salads but rather cutting out crisps, sweets, processed sugars and sugary drinks. Last year I brought a couple of cookbooks which contain some great health recipes that I want to try.

Get into a Blogging Routine - During the last couple of months of 2015, I found blogging regularly quite hard due to my university exams and essays so unfortunately posts have been lacking but this year I am hoping to get back into a blogging routine and get back to posting posts I like.

Travel and Explore More - Growing up I always loved travelling and was lucky enough to explore so many wonderful countries but this year I would love to explore places within Europe such as Hungry, Germany and Italy

Separate Work & Down Time - At university I spend a lot of my time doing essays and revision and often start early in the morning and end up going late into the evening and then repeating it again the next day which doesn't help my mental health so this year I would like to have a cut off time in the day to stop working and just watch netflix and relax.

What are your Goals and Resolutions for 2016?
